Kinesiology (a.k.a. Human Kinetics): This is the scientific study of human movement. Chiropractors use applied kinesiology to address physiological, mechanical and psychological mechanisms in order to restore function and provide pain relief.
Kyphosis: This is the normal backward curvature that should be present when viewing the thoracic spine from the side. It can also be used to describe excessive backward spinal curvature present in the upper thoracic spine known as dowagers hump.
Kyphoscoliosis: This is made up of two components; kyphosis and scoliosis. The condition of kyphoscoliosis is the abnormal curvature of the spine, both sideways and towards the upper back. The causes of kyphoscoliosis are generally genetically linked or can even be caused due to poor muscle control and muscle weakness.
